Workers' Compensation Insurance

Workers' Compensation (workers' comp) insurance protects both employees and employers in the event of a work-related illness or on-the-job injury. It protects injured employees by covering expenses for their medical care and physical rehabilitation, and a portion of the lost income while they are unable to return to work. It also protects employers from being sued by injured employees, their spouses, or a third party.

In Arizona, an employer is required by law to purchase workers' comp insurance as long as it regularly hires employees in its customary business, regardless of the number of the employees they have, whether the employees are part-time or full-time.
